Colorado based Kevin Robb is proud to share his latest commission, Kite Festival. This contemporary sculpture is a delightful addition in the the roundabout in the center of the Inova Development by United Properties in Centennial, CO. The light and airy circular sculpture features different solid and perforated elements between four anchor poles juxtaposed in a random manner to yield unique dimension and create a festival feel of gathering and an uplifting experience. It is enjoyed by motorists driving through the business park as well as guests and employees in the nearby office buildings. It is even fun for the employees in the higher floors of the office buildings that can look down upon Kite Festival. This aluminum sculpture stands at a little over 12 feet in height and is 136 feet in circumference. The commission involved working closely with the developer in configuring a design that worked around the major utilities running underneath the roundabout. The grounding elements could not be over the underground utilities and at the same time there needed to be access to the utilities for any potential utility problems. The four outside posts and the 12 foot high circular design accomplishes this! Inova Development consists of a series of Class A office buildings and Kite Festival definitely puts the finishing touches to an already beautiful development!
